I am just curious who here actually buys CDs or if you just download music. I honestly can't think of a time I bought a CD.

me too...those music guys are rich enough, if they expect me to spend £15 on £4s worth of cd they can go and fuck a duck...

I prolly had atleast 1000 cds downloaded on my pc at one time ... It crashed and I never got to burn them. :'(
I buy cds and junk still more then I download music. I love music and the bands I listen to ... So its like charity I give to them. For people to say "43r3454534r534zen for fuckin two songs I like is BULLSHIT!!!!" Well I think that is bullshit because music is somethin that grows onto you ... You need to give stuff a chance.

Or, they listen to horseshit music.
The art of the album as an entire musical concept is certainly waneing. Its made even worse with bullshit apple and their bullshit ipod selling bullshit 1 songs at a time...this is going to further compound the issue of our need for instantaneous gratification of sugary fluff.
Bah, *sits down and spins some vinyl* Digial music sucks anyways...gimme sounds that artists actually produced, not the 100010101011 interpretation of a computer.

At one point I was managing a music store. So, it allowed me to be honest... I stole the CD's directly and created the mp3's for others to download.

See Tet, we need more people like you in this world. I would do that with Britney Spears, maybe if her sales go down, she will go away.

i buy the albums, for sure. it's not just the songs; it's the whole package. i'll still download a track or two, though usually from the band's official site if available, to sample things, or i'll grab the whole album online, give it a listen, and then buy it and delete the mp3s.
well, and occassionally there will be a band that i sort of like because of one or two songs, but i know that their novelty will wear off within a week or two, so i just download the songs, and don't bother blowing money on the album.

I think making mixted albums is dumb because you can never have the same songs you want on one cd ... you always have to shuffle through your collection and manually mix things ... thats dumb just have a cd and listen to it.
Surtsey
I don't listen to musicians who only have one or two good songs on an album. I think there's maybe one song out of every 5 CDs I actually own that I don't like.
Downloading's handy for me because a) I'm 17 and poor, b) There's a lot of CDs I can't even get my hands on due to both the fact that I live in Utah and general rarity, c) It's a good way to see if you respect an artist enough to actually go out and buy their hard copy.
