Noob questions on morrowind.

my dude is about lvl 8 after a day. but I need help, could someone answer these please.

Is it bad if a darka brotherhood guy comes after you? one got to me so i killed him and stole his armour but then a gaurd said i was boned if they were after me.

what should i do with a grand soul gem? i stole that too and its worth 60,000 but most shops have is about 1000...do i keep it? it wont let me put it in my chest at the guilds

how do you pickpocket? i heard lots of people talking about it in walkthrough etc but i dont get how....I just unlock people's houses, go in and kill them and loot their house, can i just nick stuff out of people's pockets?

The dark brotherhood dude will come after you if you have the tribunal expansion, its normal. Speak to a guard and ask about the dark brotherhood. Later on you can go to a woman who teleports you to the expansion city. But its a totally different storyline, so only do it if you want to.

For pickpocket, you have to be in sneak mode then click on a person as if you were going to talk to them, if your pickpocket skill is high enough you can see their inventory and take it. I suck at that, i always get caught.

Keep the soul gem but not for that reason. I'm always a mage, and I enchant my own items. Enchant is easily the most useful skill in the entire game. For instance, I made a glove of ice and another one of fire elemental destruction, each time you launch one of the elements at someone it does 10 damage. Each glove has 300 charges. The great thing about enchanted items is that you can use them quickly, as opposed to having to wait with spells. Basically, I murdered Dagoth Ur with those two gloves and two summoned storm atronachs.

I kinda got the gma efigured out now, my ude is a pretty good thief, level 25 with 65 sneak and security, the magic things seemed complicated for a first go

i got tons of shit in my box at the fighters guild that I cant sell, like that gem and some ivory stuff i nicked off of the morag tong, is there anyone in the game with uber ammounts of gold? best guy I have found is creeper, and he rocks as he has 5k and buys all my shit for full price...

one last thing, does the main quest stay shit forever? I enjoy the mage andd dtthieves guild quests but the main ones seem really boring...well the first 2 did, ive not gone any farther

I've never followed the main quest. When I decided to check out red mountain I just jumped over the huge gate (my mage can jump.. well, as high as you can imagine) and ran around until I found the guy. I'd advise you not to go in there though unless you've got one badass character, you get jumped by groups of monsters every few seconds; and there's a shitload of daedric ruins on the mountain.

As far as getting gold goes.. I have well over 100,000 gold. No, I don't cheat. There's a spell you can use on people that enrages them to the point where they will attack you, and if you kill them (even in front of a guard.. hell, even if it is a guard) it doesn't go on your record. I killed about 60 guards in Balmora and took their armor to the armorer next to the book shop. What you do is, sell the armor until he's out of gold, sleep for 24 hours, then do it again. Once he has a shitload of armor, you can walk in with something that costs a lot of money (ebony armor, for example) and sell it to him for 60,000 or whatever. To balance out the cost, you give him the armor, take his money, and take as many of the guard suits you sold him as possible without actually giving him more money. It's a long process, but I'll never run out of money.

Seriously though, my character's a fucking god. I murdered Dagoth Ur, Vivec, I can open and lock level 100 doors easily, I can fly, I can jump as high as I want, I can heal, I can summon anything.. I am a god.

lol, thats badass...im gonna try a mage sometime cuz my guy is getting kind of boring and mages look like they are hella fun, I've kinda got that trick to work by taunting the guards in fort moonmoth until they attack but my guy isnt very good and it takes forever.

How do I make a mage? That isnt shit? Mine generally are so I give up and make a guy who can just go and wack stuff with a big sword

My spells are all distant, too. I can shoot a guy with this green glob-substitute-for-a-taunt spell from acrossed Balmora's river and he'll chase me down. Then I usually just float around while he shits himself with anger, then after he cusses me a few times I blast him to smitherines.

how do you fly? my guy does levitate but its much slower than just walking, I wanna fly!!!

The power of the levitate is the amount of speed you go while you're in air. I only fly at about 30, which is slow compared to how fast my guy walks (I fashioned these shoes that make my speed like 140, my guy hauls ass). So usually I just use these other shoes I made, and take gigantic leaps. I have an amulet that slows my fall too, in case I'm near death and I can't sustain a jump.

I haven't played since my Xbox went belly-up, which was a long time ago. That said, I don't remember any specifics - but I'd put a bet on the spell being called 'Taunt'. It's in the manual, rtfm.
