ROMs

Roms of old games... Good or bad? I'm talking SNES or Genesis here, Atari, NES, etcetera, not GC or GBA or PS one or two.

I don't know if I'd say if they're bad or good. It really shouldn't matter since those games aren't made anymore and the only way you can find them is at something like Pawn Shops,Used game stores or eBay.

I only feel they are good because a lot of japanese roms get translated letting english speakers play them for the first time.

For example, I wouldn't be able to play my beloved Final Fantasy V without roms...:)

I say that they're good: I got myself a translated Seiken Densetsu 3. Plus it enables me to play the older games that I can't get and lets me hack OoT without possibly messing up my game and it allows me to access more in Beta Quest.

so overall, yeah, roms are good. ^^

Yeah... but the real question is, how do I get my slow as hell computer to run goodquality roms???

I wouldn't have been able to play the gems like Seiken Densetsu 3, Tales Of Phantasia, and front mission 1, if it was not for ROMS and emulation. However it is still quite illegal, no matter the console.

i like them a lot because there were a lot of rpgs out there for super nintendo that i never got to beat (renting rpgs for the super nintendo was terrible; if you couldn't beat it before it was due you had to try and rent the exact same cartridge next time and hope some one didn't come along and delete your save), and a lot i didn't get to play period.
there are only two things i don't like about them. one: it is too easy to cheese out and save every five seconds, erasing some of the difficulty of adhering to the save restraints. i catch myself doing that far too often. and two: some of the games that i am looking for i cannot find a working copy to save my life. there is a super nintendo game, i believe it is called dungeon master or something like that that i have been looking for forever.

yes! that's the one! every rom i've downloaded has not worked. i used to love that game.

HAH dungeon master... i beleve by Lucas Arts???? yeah i found a couple of crapped out copies too...

i love roms... its just time consuming and annoying to look for them unless you know what your doing... i have found some really good games, for instance, i found Bahamut Lagoon not too long back that played straight and beat!!! it was so fun. i loved suiken destinu 3, even tho i cant seem to get anywhere in it... been trying for a while to beat ff5 and ff6... im almost there on both of them and final fantasy 4 i did beat... i also enjoy some of the classics like Starfox wee!... i suck at it, o well. there is a rom that i havnt been able to locate (accept for a really really glitchy half playable version) called Romancing Saga, its by squaresoft. of course i havnt been quite looking for it by title so i cant say that i have looked everywhere there is... not really enough time now days... -still has homework to do- anyway thats my 2 cents

oh... you've found good quality rom sites? well I'm looking for a Naruto rom, Ushio to Tora rom, and other such anime based SNES games. know a reliable source? i've been hunting for a while now... i want ushio to tora in english, but i haven't even found a japanese copy available for download.
