So you want to mod your xbox but dont have an idea as to what a soldering iron is?
ok so here's the deal up until recently there has been only one way of modifying a xbox console to run unauthorized software and that was to open the xbox take everything out, buy a modchip, and solder about 30 wires or so to the bottom possibly killing your xbox but today things are alot easier thanks in part to a hack that was released july 4th 2003. To Install this new hack:
You'll be needing a original copy of 007 agent under fire, a hacked 007 save file on a memory card called "007aufsavewithEvoxInstaller", a computer and cable to ftp to your xbox, the free-x exploit "Bert and Ernie",and the complex loader Homebrew software.
Once you have all these the process goes like this:
Step 1: Boot your original copy of 007 AUF and load the hacked file " screen will flicker and boot you into evolutionx dashboard"
Step 2: FTP to you xbox from you computer via the crossover cable or hub connection. Check under the setting in evox for the ip.
Step 3: Install the Free-x Exploit by Replacing the current /Fonts directory on the xbox c: drive with a new empty fonts folder and transfer the bert and ernie files to the new directory.
Step 4: now transfer the default.xbe of the loader along with its folder to the c directory on the xbox.
Step 5: Reboot and it should boot to the loader screen where you can play copied games, explore the hard drive, boot evolutionx whatever.
